Terracotta Clay, “Baked Earth”

Terracotta Clay is an essential part of my practice. Using terracotta clay, a clay known for its link to the earth, the dirt, the organic, helps with connecting with the material, allowing it to lead the way, and discover what it form it wants to take. Below I have pictures of some of my pieces before they have been fired, while they’re still in their most raw clay form. The clay phase represents freedom of expression, and imagination. To honor this phase and my creative process, I’m sharing this piece of me.
